'Maison Chaplais' sprang out of an idea of Maurice's, that when he was travelling the world teaching European Artisan Breadmaking (see link, www.chaplais.com) and going to endless exhibitions, he found himself in a unique position to source products for his own mail order catalogue. He wanted to offer a range of finefood and lifestyle products, bringing the 'feelgood factor' into peoples homes, which beautiful products made by committed artisans inevitably evokes.
